Free to track. Paid to plan.

Tracking is free, with no time limit and no card. Search, barcodes, logging, your targets, the expenditure estimate that learns what you burn, your weight history, your training and your micronutrients. Not a trial of those — they are simply free.

A subscription adds the part that costs us money to run: meal plans written for you whenever you want a new one, the coach without a daily limit, logging by photo or voice, group chat, and the two that make Setpoint a coach rather than a tracker — contest prep and training for an event. Seven days free on every plan — cancel inside the trial and you are not charged, and Google handles that from your Play Store subscriptions, not us.

FREE

A$0 / forever

Unlimited

  • Food logging by search, barcode or typing it in
  • Calorie and macro targets that learn what you actually burn — change your goal or pace as often as you like
  • Carb cycling, on any goal
  • Weight trend, plateau detection and micronutrients
  • Training logging and weekly volume

To try, with limits

  • One meal plan, up to 3 meals a day over 5 days, plus 2 meal swaps or edits a day
  • One training programme
  • 5 coach messages a day
  • 5 nutrition labels read from a photo a day

Not on the free plan: logging by photo or voice, importing a recipe from a link, building a second meal plan or training programme, and unlimited coach messages.

Contest prep, event training and group chat are part of the subscription — the features that turn Setpoint from a tracker into a coach, and the ones that cost real money to run. Available on any paid plan, trial included. And if a subscription lapses mid‑prep, the prep keeps running: you keep the countdown, the weekly targets and the peak week, and simply cannot start a new one.

One subscription. That is the whole pricing page.

The free tier is not a crippled version — it is the whole tracker, with no time limit, and it is what most calorie apps charge for. What a subscription buys is the work that costs real money each time it runs: writing you a meal plan, answering as a coach, reading a photograph. No “pro” version on top of the paid version, no credits to top up, no add-ons, no ads, and nothing that costs extra the month you actually need it. Every paid feature is in all three plans from the first day.

During the seven free days a few things are capped, because the free week is where a subscription can be abused: two meal plans and two training programmes, 10 photo logs and 10 voice logs a day, and 5 coach messages a day. Every cap lifts once the first payment goes through.

Prices in Australian dollars. Google Play converts to your local currency and handles billing; Setpoint never sees your card.

Questions

How is this different from other tracking apps?

Three things. Your calorie target adapts to what your body actually does, rather than staying wherever a sign-up formula put it on day one. There are no ads and no upsells, just one subscription with everything in it. And no number in the app is invented: a model may identify food from a photo or a sentence, but every macro figure comes from a nutrition database or from a food you entered yourself.

Is there an iPhone version?

Not yet. Setpoint is Android only at the moment. It is built from a single codebase that already targets both, so an iOS release is a matter of finishing store requirements rather than rewriting the app.

How long before it knows my expenditure?

Around two weeks of weigh-ins and food logging gets a first blended estimate; four weeks of reasonably consistent logging gets a figure that no longer leans on the formula at all. Until then the app tells you exactly what it is working from and what it still needs.

Do I have to log perfectly?

No, but you do have to log consistently. The expenditure figure is derived from what you record, so it inherits any systematic under-logging. Being roughly right every day beats being exactly right three days a week.

Does the AI make up calorie numbers?

Never. A model is used to identify food from a photo or a sentence and to estimate portion size. Every macro figure comes from the Australian Food Composition Database, USDA or Open Food Facts, or from a food you entered yourself. If nothing matches, the item is flagged as estimated so you know.

Is this medical advice?

No. Setpoint is a tracking tool. If you have a health condition, are pregnant, or are recovering from an eating disorder, talk to a GP or an accredited practising dietitian.

Stop guessing what you burn.

Two weeks of honest logging is all it takes to start replacing a formula with your own data.
